obligatory 2024 ''''devlog''''

id feel a little bad if i didnt make a little update this year about the status of le tron.

i pretty much wholly finished an entire route and then made some really good progress on some other routes! mind you, even just one route of the new version is like, pretty much the same amount of runtime as the entire gamejam version.

despite this, id like to deem the deluhx edition of the game as ostensibly 'canned'. this isn't  something im particularly dishearted by, not because i dont enjoy working on the game, but moreso because ive decided its not something id like to consider as 'on the table', if that makes sense. since i make these games for myself, and indulge in the process of creating them for myself, i feel no initiative to make my primary goal for them to be presentable to other people. even if its canned, i could spend an entire day working on the game just for the hell of it, and i feel content doing that even knowing it will probably never come out. its a nice state of mind to be in. since the original game was made when i was a young'in, a lot of the humour and components of it heavily reflect that too and will inevitably reflect the deluhx version too, so i have little intiative to pose jh9k deluhx as some kind of magnum opus of mine that i have some kind of insatiable craving to let out to the world. honestly, nothing im working on right now is particularly much of a 'magnum opus', so im just making whatever feels good and knowing its all self indulgent.

however, i still want to branch out our wonderful hero the Xx_yaoitron9000xX in other things i decide to make. in fact, this has already been the case!

this video features a major cameo of cute little yaoitron! its an animated series ive been working on. i think the way i drew him in this was a good translation of how i envisioned him in animated form, so feel free to take a look if youre interested. i can definitely imagine myself exploring other ventures similar to this (aka putting him in whatever i feel like) so you might see him in the strangest of places as i make more things.

i do actually draw yaoitron a lot, but do not post art publicly often so youd have to have a keen eye to even find out where to find it. however, i have tweaked his design within this timeframe (though its basically just the clothes, dont worry), so id like to show that.

use whichever design you prefer most though, i dont really care either way.
